Albina L. Seguin

Massena-Albina L. Seguin, 85, of 41 Spruce St., Massena, died Saturday morning, December 3, 1988, at the Massena Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient one day.


She was born July 11, 1903, in Mooers Forks, the daughter of John and Ida (Domina) Monette. She was educated in local schools, and was married to Edmund Seguin on April 17, 1922, at St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg by the Rev. O. A. Boyer. They farmed in the Ellenburg Depot area following their marriage. He died Nov. 16, 1949. She then moved to Massena where she worked in area private homes doing housekeeping.

She has been a resident of St. Regis Nursing Home since July, 1982.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. George (Yvonne) Taylor of Ellenburg, Mrs. Ronald (Veronica) Noreau of Chase Mills, Mrs. Joseph (Naida) LaMarche of Pepperal, Mass., and Mrs. Robert (Gladys) Cameron of Massena; six sons, Norman E. Seguin of Norfolk, William E. Seguin on Winthrop, Richard M. Seguin of Chase Mills, Louis J. Seguin of Messena, Morris E. Seguin of Henderson, Nev., and Ronald J. Seguin of Bloomington, Ind.; 29 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Marcelle Brassard, and Mrs. Herman (Cordelia) Barcomb, both of Mineville, and Mrs. Howard (Rita) McDonald of Ellenburg Depot; and two brothers; Clifford Monette of Ellenburg Depot and Raymond Monette of Poughkeepsie. Four children died earlier; Gertrude, Valieda, Rose and Clayton.

Funeral services held at St. Mary's Church in Massena and burial at St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg.
